Through my consultancy, BOUTECO (a portmanteau of boutique and eco), I work with award-winning brands to help them stand for something and stand out for it, amplifying messages that matter and sharpening their spirit of sustainability. Richard McCleery
I view photography as a way to document life’s events, experiences, friends, travel and a chance to exercise one’s imagination. My 40 years photography experience has developed into a passion and proved an artistic counterbalance to working in a corporate environment. Having shot several paid assignments, I know I’m better as an amateur, pleasing myself. I don’t specialise, but love shooting sport, portraiture and making creative images. I have had work published, won many competitions, been chair of Cheltenham Camera Club twice and am a founding member of Cheltenham’s International Salon of Photography.
We believe positive-impact tourism can create socio-cultural, environmental and economic benefits through tourism that enrich the lives of both visitors and host communities.
The Inspire Global Media Awards recognise storytellers who strike a compelling balance between painting a colourful, inspiring and informative picture of a destination or experience and giving their audience a wider understanding of the positive impact tourism can create.
INSPIRE – Does the storytelling transport and inspire its audience, creating a desire to experience the destination or subject while communicating the positive impact that experience can have on the visitor?
INFORM – Does it provide engaging, well-researched information that goes beyond the obvious, explores a new or distinctive angle and encourages the audience to understand more about the destination or experience?
IMPACT – Does it illuminate the positive impact tourism can create for communities, the environment, wildlife and/or culture? Work exploring negative impacts such as overtourism is eligible where it also provides a constructive, positive and/or solution-led narrative.
These principles inform the judges’ consideration of the work. They are not a numerical scoring formula; judges rank the eligible work within their allocated judging categories.
